Garington Field’s Story
The farmer
If someone told me I would be a flower farmer someday, I would tell them they were crazy! I am Lindsay, owner and farmer extraordinaire here at Garington.
Life has been full of moves and pivots. My husband’s former military career kept us on the move across the country for several years. As a result, I have worn many hats and had many careers. The abbreviated version is that I was an interior designer turned life science teacher. Flower farming came into the picture once we moved back to our native state of Texas and purchased a house on 30 acres of land. When we were deciding what this land could be and realizing the potential it has, I had the idea of growing massive amounts of flowers. I enrolled in the Floret Flower Farming Workshop and got to growing! Growing and selling flowers is currently a part-time gig. I work full time as an educator for the county.
I loved the idea of providing the small communities of Northeast Texas with farm fresh flowers grown right here in the great state of Texas. They make me happy, so I know they’ll make you happy! And honestly, I am getting to use my creative interior design side along with my science background all in one job. I would say that’s a win for sure. My goal is to grow flower varieties that make sense and thrive in our climate and growing zone as naturally and organically as possible.
I look forward to meeting you and making our flowers a part of your story, no matter how big or small.

The field
Garington Field is named after our dog “Gary”. Gary is a Welsh Corgi/spaniel mix who was adopted years ago from a shelter where we lived in California. He is spoiled rotten and treated like royalty. Therefore, at some point, he acquired the nickname “Sir Garington”. He has been my right-hand man in the garden and now in the rows of flowers. Rest assured that your flowers have been quality checked by this little guy!
We are currently growing on a small footprint. To be exact, one-tenth of an acre. I am keeping things small and manageable these first few years as I fine-tune my growing skills and work an additional full time job. Also, our land is heavily wooded and a big portion of it will need to be cleared before we can expand.
We do have dreams of inviting the public out for You Picks and special events. This property is beautiful and very special to us and we can’t wait to share it with you one day!
